Dear
Parents-
I
want to begin this week’s note by thanking everyone who was able to join us on
Wednesday afternoon for our Wax Museum.
The children worked hard on their research and presentations over the
past month. It was wonderful to
see how confident all the children were, as they became their person for the
many visitors.
In
addition to the Wax Museum we also held our “Soils Summit” on Wednesday morning. This hands-on activity allowed the
children to learn about weathering, layers of soil, plant in our AFAC garden
and see how erosion and run-off can harm our watershed. It was a warm, but active morning of
learning. In addition to these two
events, in class we have continued to learn about fractions, famous Americans,
simple machines, and writing in our Reading Journals. Overall we had a good week of learning.
The
coming weeks will be quite busy both here at school as well as with all the
afterschool activities in full gear.
I would like to remind you to please send a note if your child is
attending an enrichment activity or going home with a friend. Below are dates to put on your
calendars for the coming month. Please
note the SOL testing dates. Friday
Folders will have additional information for many of these events as well.
Enjoy
the weekend.
